Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but getting cozy with your sweetie is delightful! Especially if that includes winter date ideas in Cincinnati. The city and its outskirts are filled with opportunities for couples with various tastes, so set a date (or a few!) and head out on the town with someone you love. From romantic evenings to shopping events, here are some of the best date night ideas in Cincinnati.
Go See the Trans-Siberian Orchestra
You’ve been enjoying their holiday music for years, so make time to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in person on December 2nd. And there’s no better time than this year as they are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories. Hear traditional and new carols with an orchestrated twist at the Heritage Bank Center.
Date night at the Holiday Pops at Music Hall
Another music-centric event, Holiday Pops, is a fantastic annual tradition from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. There are several dates to enjoy this event, from December 12th through December 21st. If you want to stay at home, you can also live stream the event on December 11th. More details about one of our favorite Christmas date ideas in Cincinnati can be found here.
Lumaze, one of the best winter date ideas in Cincinnati
Lumaze is the best of our Christmas date ideas in Cincinnati if you’re looking for an all-in-one event. You’ll be amazed (or Lu-mazed?) at all of the things there is to do. See large-scale light displays, enjoy live entertainment, grab a bite to eat, and buy gifts from local vendors all under one roof. And, yes, we said roof, so you don’t have to worry about getting cold at this wonderful holiday event.
The Dinner Detective
Have two types of dates at the same time by heading to The Dinner Detective. Not only will you see an engaging show shrouded in mystery, but it all happens while you eat dinner. There are various dates throughout November and December, although this is one of the date night ideas in Cincinnati that is selling out quickly. So get tickets while you can!
If you want to stay warm in your car, this will probably be your favorite of our winter date ideas in Cincinnati. Head to a drive-through light display, such as Journey Borealis. As you traverse through the lights, you’ll see trees, arches, a replica of Jerusalem, and the manger scene before you finally arrive at the North Pole. Turn up the holiday music, and enjoy thousands of lights. This also makes the perfect double date as the event is $20 per carload weekdays and $25 per carload Friday through Sunday.
Fountain Square Ice Rink
Whether you love ice skating or are a novice, you can have fun testing out your skills at the Fountain Square Ice Rink. Depending on when you go, you may also be able to ride bumper cars on the ice. So bundle up and go around the rink, but be sure to warm up afterward. Get a hot chocolate or head somewhere indoors for dinner post-skating.
Springdale Santa 5k/1 Mile
Love exercising together? Then this is the event for you both. Either participate in the Springdale Santa 5k or go for a lesser goal on the 1-mile route. Participants can either run or walk (so no pressure!), and the goal is to have fun and finish — not necessarily come in first. Folks are encouraged to wear Santa gear or at least a hat, so be festive and run or walk the course. This event is a fundraiser, so your entry fee for this one of our winter date ideas in Cincinnati also goes towards a fabulous cause.
